In case you missed them, here are some of the videos I came across this week. What was your favorite video this week?

I was sitting here thinking about what we're going to do this summer, making road-trip plans and trying to decide on what activities I can do with my eleven year old son, Jacob, this summer. Then I got to thinking about how much he's matured and grown physically over the past year or so. It's been so great watching him change into this cool and funny little dude.

Being a parent can be extremely frustrating when disciplining our kids. There's a fine line between discipline and child abuse. What's considered child abuse? How far can a parent go before it's "child abuse"?
One of my favorite bloggers, Jenny aka "The Bloggess" (don't even bother clicking on the link unless you have a sense of humor) was recently ranked among Babble's Top 50 Mom Blogger list this year. Babble was a site I'd never heard of until last week, so I had to go check it out. I spent the rest of the weekend reading all kinds of mommy blogs. What did I find? I found all these women who apparently have lives… or rather their kids have lives and they just blog about them. I also found, that in comparison, I must be the worst mom in the world. Halloween is just around the corner. My ten year old son, Jacob, has informed me that he will not be participating in this years Halloween activities. This includes trick-or-treating. While I'm glad he came to this decision on his own (saves me from telling him this was his last year to go trick-or-treating), it makes me a little sad at the same time. I didn't get to participate in Halloween activities growing up. Instead we were always the family that had eggs thrown at their house or finding toilet paper all over the yard or both. [Read more...]
