You read that right. The Daily Post at WordPress.com launched two campaigns for bloggers. The first, to post every single day through 2011. I thought about taking on this challenge…
Then came to my senses. That's probably why The Daily Post launched their second campaign, to blog at least once a week through 2011. Honestly, I don't see me posting every single day through 2011 and I already post once a week. I'm going for somewhere in the middle, but I am participating in the once-a-week campaign, officially.
"The hardest part of blogging isn’t the tools – it’s what goes on between your ears…" ~ Scott Berkun
I would post more, but there are always three things that hold me back from clicking on the Publish button:
- I worry about how silly a post might seem to others.
- I worry about how something I've written might offend some of my readers.
- I worry about how long my posts are and if I have the right picture to go along with the post.
I'm done worrying!
- I'm not going to worry about how silly a post might seem to others.
- I'm not going to think about how it might offend some of my readers.
- I'm not even going to worry about how long my post is or if I have the right picture to go along with the post.
I'm just going to post. I might actually get something out of all this blogging.
Who knows? You might too! If you already read my blog, I hope you'll encourage and support me with comments (good and bad) along the way.

Marianne-
Great post. You can definitely get two posts out there a week. None of what you are putting out there is fluff. It’s all good stuff. Not everyone will like all posts, but you are hitting the right notes.
I’d like to post at least once a day, but often there are things going on that will demand time that takes me away from achieving that. I am instead going to shoot for posts at least five times a week. We’ll see how that goes.
Keep up the great work!
Five posts a week, I know you can do it! I’ve already learned so much from visiting your blog and I’m looking forward to reading more posts from you.
Marianne,
Like Tim, who commented before me, you both have such potential to write more often if you just let go.
One of the things I learned recently in my crazy New Year’s Eve challenge was that a blog post doesn’t have to be long or incredibly witty to be of value. It just has to BE.
Write it first and ask forgiveness later. Those of us who support you will be there either way.
If you can chat in chat room, comment on Facebook, or Tweet, you can write a post.
I believe you! Now, go get ‘em, Tiger! (or would that be Tigress?)
Yes! And the first thing I’m going to do is clear out all my draft posts by finishing them and publishing them.
I figure if you can dish out 25 posts for that New Year’s Eve challenge, I can post at least twice a week. You are an inspiration.
Good luck, Marianne! Twice a week is a very attainable goal. Remember, you can always continue to tweak things after you publish, too. :-)
Go get ‘em!
That’s right! I can always go back and tweak later. I can’t begin to tell you how much your support means to me. Thank you. :)
I hope you can do it, because I look forward to reading your posts. My request is more about your son’s funny moments. I have a 12 year old son and he is a lot like yours ;) You are doing something I wish I could do, and you do it well..don’t worry so much!
Sweet! I’m so glad you visit my blog. I could post more about the kids, in general, but I always feel like no one wants to hear all that. Now I feel like I’ve got permission. ;-)
Scott Burkun let me know about your site.
What a wonder attitude! I love your post.
That’s why so many of blogs were left undone.
Keep this attitude and you will do fine and it’s great advice for everyone who is participating in the challenge.
Good luck and Happy New Year!!
