You know that the Dragon Age II demo came out last week, right? Oh yeah, baby! And ya know, I just spent the past two weeks playing Dragon Age: Origins and all but one of the add-on's to the game, right? The only add-on I didn't play was the Darkspawn Chronicles. I guess I'll have to get to that this week, before the Dragon Age II comes out March 8th.
Back to the demo and a first look from li'l ole me… Oooo, this is going to be a lot of fun!
The camera view is a little different. It's not a bad kind of different, just…different. The look and feel of the game reminds me a little of Assassin's Creed. I think the character renderings are better than the first Dragon Age. Of course, that doesn't surprise me CG graphics are getting better and better every year.
Gameplay looks like it will be pretty much the same, which is good. They've changed the way you level up on the game, but it's easy enough to get used to. The biggest change I've seen so far, is how the leveling-up screen is displayed. For some, it may be easier to understand. For others, it just looks prettier.

The demo will allow you to use the potions you pick up, but you won't be able to use any of the items like staves or shields you might pick up while playing. You won't even be able to get more information about any of the items you pick up.
Now, keeping in mind this was the demo, I have to say that one of my favorite aspects of Dragon Age is the interraction between your character and the others in your party. Becoming best of friends with Leliana, getting drunk with Oghren (and even passing out), joking around with Zevran, and even falling in love with Alistair (and knockin' boots *gasp*), was all part of the fun. I imagine it will be the same for Dragon Age II, as well. I didn't get to see much of that in the demo, but I'm hoping to, once I get the full game.
Another thing I loved about Dragon Age was the interraction amongst my companions themselves. Before Dragon Age, I had never played a game in which the other players had conversations with each other. It was a lot of fun to listen in as Leliana poked fun at Sten for petting a kitten in the last town or the snarky remarks between Morrigan and Alistair. I know, I sound like a complete nerd or moron for talking about "my companions" as if they were real. But then again, that's the point isn't it? To feel like you're really in the game, right? Anyway, I'm hoping that hasn't changed with Dragon Age II.
I can't end this post without mentioning one more thing – the breasts! The breasts on all these women characters are huge. Take a look at that video again, right around the 50sec. mark and pause it.
Did you see the boobs on her? And when you're face-to-face with her, they seem even bigger. I mean c'mon…really? Is it me or do breast sizes seem to get bigger and bigger with every game?
Alright. Enough about that. Pre-order it before the 8th and you get extras with the game. Are you going to play?

Fan of the boobs. And since EA doesn’t make games for Linux, I guess I’ll be playing this on the Xbox.
Only after I’ve played it a couple of times. :)
